Bob Dylan, the iconic American singer-songwriter and Nobel laureate, played a major role in shaping modern folk and rock music. Though born in Minnesota, Dylan has deep ties to Canada—most notably through The Band, his longtime collaborators who were originally a Canadian group called The Hawks. Together, they changed the sound of rock with their legendary Basement Tapes sessions in Woodstock and the electrifying 1966 world tour. Dylan also has personal connections to Canada, having spent time in the country and often collaborating with Canadian artists like Neil Young and Joni Mitchell.
